Dressed for Thanksgiving Dinner Turkey Set

I just wanted to share a set that I'm about to list. This is one of my VERY FIRST designs from years back. It's been tucked away in my sewing storage room, never worn or offered for sale.

Back when I first started sewing, I was experimenting and fascinated with sewing using mens ties! I had everyone I know sending me the ties they no longer wore. I did tie-grrrr sets - and these two turkey sets - where the appliques are mostly done from mens ties.

Boy's Sock Monkey Outfit

I've been doing some closet cleaning and found this sock monkey cowboy outfit in the storage room next to my sewing room.

This is one of the very first outfits I ever made when I first started sewing several years back ... I was just playing around on a pair of thrift store overalls! I never offered it for sale because when I made these, I didn't think I was good enough to sell my stuff. I've come a long way since this!

But, I'm thrilled to see that the bidding on this outfit is already up to $56! I just listed it for sale on eBay, so I got Ben (who just-turned-9) to model it for me!

Fall Euro Launch 6-piece set

My sewing group is having a Fall Euro launch starting today, so I've done this 6-piece set - which will include the custom beanie belt loop hat, patchwork/strip tie (my fascination with fabric strips and squares continues!), custom shirt with owl sleeves and tree applique, embellished denim jacket with applique on both sides, fabric strip pants made of different fall cords, and matching applique drawstring tote!

As always, if you see something you like here you can reach me through the site.

One of a kind Custom Halloween Outfit

I'm so excited to share this year's Halloween set.

It's a new design of mine which was inspired by the vintage Halloween decorations I have always loved! As you might guess, Halloween is my favorite holiday!

Little Women's Nightshirts for the Twilight Sewing Launch

One of my sewing groups is having a Twilight Sewing Launch next week, and I'm doing three little women's nightshirts. This one says,

Pale Moon Book 5 Spoiler Alert
Edward develops a taste for blondes, leaves Bella, and falls irrevocably in love ... with me.

I'm doing another version that is Mature Moon ...

Ben, my 8-year-old took my picture in these, and I was so impressed with him. He didn't cut my head off or anything (well, not in all of the pictures anyway)!

Little Einstein custom set

It rained again today (sooooo much rain lately!!!) so I finished my Little Einstein set for a new sewing group I've joined on eBay. They are doing a back to school launch on July 6 so I've been hard at work getting ready.

Here are a few photos in the finished set today. It was super hot, in the 90s, and little Jack wasn't super cooperative with me. I didn't want to push him ... we we just got a few photos and I'm more than thankful for that.

Thanks Jack!

My new Surf Dog custom set

These are a few shots from today's visit to a nearby lake. This is Jack modeling his Surf Dog custom set.

We don't have a beach near us for a location shoot. No sand, how sad! So Jack and I had to settle for a little lake.

Today it's a nice 75 degrees and cloudy outside, no sun shining in the eyes. A perfect day to get out and snap a few photos of Jack in his cute WOOF doggie outfit.

Pet Parade contest entry

Tomorrow is our annual Pet Parade and Contest downtown.

Each year, I think we have the winning costume! Last year, the theme was food. The grand prize package went to the "Tastiest-looking costume." We dressed as deviled eggs. The winner was a bunch of dogs and a baby dressed as honey bees.

This year, the theme is sports and the grand prize goes to "Best Sports Fan." Here's Truman, now 10-years-old in his sports fan costume, hot off the sewing machine.

I can't decide if I'll sew a basketball costume for Hurley, our guinea pig. Stay tuned. We'll see!

Early Mother's Day Gift

I LOVE taking pictures of my kids, but my little guy, Jack has for the longest time said he doesn't want to be photographed anymore ...

unless he's dressed as Batman.

Well, he woke up this morning and said, "Let's go take my picture." I grabbed a bunch of outfits he's about to outgrown and we were in the car fast before he could change his mind!

Mother's Day came early for me!
